The Hueston Woods AppleButter Festival
provides a vignette of 19th century farm life and features continual
making and canning of apple butter in the pioneer fashion throughout
the event. In addition to apple butter sales, a wide variety of
apples, cider, pumpkins and gourds can be purchased on the grounds.
Tours are conducted through the Doty homestead and the barn, both of
mid 1980's vintage and exhibiting a broad display of museum
artifacts. Each year demonstrations of pioneer crafts are featured
along with a theme program. Food service is available on site.
Proceeds are directed to the historic preservation goals of the
Association.
